To Protect Yourself Against Doll Sorcery:

1. If you feel some person is already using doll sorcery against you, or some related method to feed ideas into your mind, you probably will not be able to get hold of the doll, so perform the Breaking the Link ceremony upon yourself. It's just as effective. First, perform the Tower of Light to seal your aura. Then, take a new knife, washed and dried, which you will afterward put away and keep from other use; or visualize such a knife. Proceed as on pages 118-119. Unless you have a strong psychic sense of there being some other point of attachment to you, picture the cord as attached in the region of your solar plexus, and sever it about eighteen inches from your body (do not cut yourself). When the link has been broken, take a bath and put on entirely fresh clothes.

2. As a general precaution, keep the aura strong. Practice the Tower of Light regularly.

3. Resist unwanted fantasies. They can be a first indication of interference, and if you can stop the trouble at this stage there will be no need to take other measures. If you do not want a certain person in your life, do not entertain even from curiosity any thoughts of love or sex with that person. Similarly, if you keep getting a notion that there's something wrong with your health, and your judgment disagrees with it, dismiss it. If it comes back, get a proper medical checkup. Do extra exercise, or study holism: cultivate health-mindedness instead of sickness-mindedness.

4. Take up, or intensify, creative visualization. There must be a few things you want in life-and no other person will stand much chance of filling your imagination with their images, if it is already occupied with your own creations.

5. Choose your own friends, and spend plenty of your spare time in their company. Be interested in their hobbies, and other activities.

6. Do not leave "bits of yourself" around. With regard to doll sorcery, another useful point is not to make known all your names, because dolls are sometimes "baptized" for a person. Many people have a confirmation name, or some other, which they never sign. Keep it that way, but, privately, remind yourself sometimes that the unused name is part of the appellation that means "you."
